Director Pandiraj who made the National Award winning movie Pasanga and is back with a film after the hit Vamsam.
We hear that the film to be directed by him will have Kalavani fame Oviya as the female protagonist, while the male lead is said to be Vijay Tv fame Siva Karthikeyan. Siva Karthikeyan who is a popular television anchor turns hero with this film. Sources say that this film is a love story and is set in the North Madras milieu where kids grow up with rowdies of the area as their role model. We know about Siva Karthikeyan’s comic timing, lets wait to see if Director Pandiraj brings in the acting talent too.
Actress Andrea Jeremiah has been dubbing for Shankar’s upcoming film ‘Nanban’. No, the singer-cum-actress, who is a stunner in her own right, isn’t a part of the film’s cast which has Vijay, Srikanth, Jeeva, Ileana, SJ Suriyah and others. She is dubbing for heroine Ileana’s character in the film. Incidentally, it would be a comeback for Ileana, who debuted in Tamil films with ‘Kedi’ some years back and then disappeared from the scene.
Shankar reportedly paid a whopping Re.1 crore to Ileana to bring her back to Tamil films. Ileana, who is cast opposite Vijay in the film, is said to have made life hell for Shankar and the rest of the crew with her starry tantrums. Despite her tantrums and a largely non-cooperative attitude, Shankar has successfully finished her portions in the film. Ileana is also said to be doing the same thing in Tollywood as well. It appears that the trouble had spilled over to Andrea who arrived at Chennai’s Kothadndapani Dubbing Theatre to dub for Ileana’s portions in the film. Some dubbing artistes, who had already assembled there, staged a mini-protest saying that they won’t allow Andrea to dub for the film as Andrea wasn’t a permanent member of the Dubbing Artistes’ Association. Andrea waited for a few minutes and was pondering her next move. When Shankar came to know of it, he immediately arranged for Rs.60,000 to be paid to the Association to make Andrea a permanent member. After the money was paid, Andrea didn’t face any hurdle and started her dubbing work!
Lakshmi Rai has often been linked-up with most of her co-stars and some cricketers. This time, she was tagged with director-turned-actor Raghava Lawrence. However, she has denied those speculations again.
It was all started after Lakshmi Rai was roped in to act with him for Kanchana. Lakshmi Rai claims that it is not a crime to work with an actor in more than one film. In fact, the actress, who worked with him earlier in Super Cowboy and Tamil film Pen Singam (Guest appearance with him), says that she was not the first choice for the recently released Telugu film. Raghave Lawrence had approached Anushka Shetty before offering the same role to Lakshmi Rai. The former, who turned down the offer due to her commitments with other projects, was replaced by the latter in Kanchana. The actress adds that he is a good friend of him and they share a good working relationship. He concludes on the note that nothing is cooking between them.
